KARABAKH WAR VETERAN SAYS APARTMENTS BUILT FOR THEM ARE SOLD TO OTHERS

On April 29, Karabakh war disabled Ismayil Rasulov, who lives in Garadagh district of Baku, held a press conference to protest against lawlessness of officials. According to Rasulov, he has been in the housing queue since 2002 to get an apartment in Garadagh district. Although three apartment buildings have been constructed during this period, he has not been given a flat. Rasulov, who was 41st person on the roster, could not get an apartment in a 9-storey building which contained 81 apartment. He claims the reason is apartments in these buildings, which are intended for the Karabakh disabled, are sold to other people. Rasulov has already complained to law-enforcement agencies over this. "In response to my housing problem appeals, relevant bodies give superficial answers like 'it'll be considered next time'. Those who deserted during Karabakh war get apartments, while the real veterans' rights are trampled" said Rasulov.
